Esthetic Stomatology
Proper hygiene of teeth and mouth is considered to be the basis for prevention of mouth and teeth disease. Two of the most common oral cavity diseases are caries and periodontal diseases. These conditions are, among other things, caused by poor oral hygiene. After every meal, especially if the food was sticky and soft, part of that food remains on the teeth. This is how soft deposits are formed. Bacteria multiply in these deposits and create a layer that holds firmly to the tooth. This soft yellowish grey layer is called plaque. Plaque can not be removed by water stream, but must be brushed of the tooth.

It is created by mineralization of soft deposits and plaque. Tartar cannot be removed neither by water stream nor brushing, but only by a stomatologist. Periodontal diseases are also caused by bacteria from the plaque, soft deposits and tartar. The first changes occur on the gums (gingiva), which are bad breath and gum bleeding. Between the teeth, beyond the reach of the toothbrush, bacteria with minerals create a hard deposit of tartar. The gums are then inflamed and separate from the tooth. This is how pockets are created in which the food remainders are deposited. The gums are quite damaged and are pulling away, leaving the tooth neck exposed and the tooth bone is then attacked. The teeth then develop a degree of looseness and fall out. |

A good prevention includes proper and regular cleaning of teeth and oral cavity and regular visits to the stomatologist, because tartar and potential dental diseases can only be treated by a stomatologist. |

How to properly brush your teeth?
The common enemy of teeth and gums is ‘plaque’. Plaque is a sticky colorless deposit created on tooth surface. It is ideal for settlement of bacteria whose toxins are damaging to the teeth and gums, leading to caries, gum inflammation and paradontopathy. Regular brushing with a toothbrush removes plaque and food remainders from both external and internal tooth surface.

How to properly clean your teeth
The use of a toothbrush cleans only 3 out of 5 sides of every tooth. This is why the remaining two sides (between the teeth) require special attention to avoid sedimentation of plaque and food particles. Given that caries and dental conditions begin specifically in these areas, it is necessary to use dental floss on a daily basis.
